Hi and welcome to anyone who might be reading.

My name is Carter. I am a third year journalism student at De Montfort University. Over the last few years, I have built up many skills relating to journalism.

​

How to write news articles, features, columns, reviews, InDesign and putting together audio and video packages in a broad sense but many skills imbertween as well which help me progress as a journalist.

​

Like any journalist worth their salt, what would be the point of doing it if A, they didn't enjoy writing and B, if they didn't spend their time practicing and writing outside of my university work.

​

Which leads me onto this blog. Over the last two years trying my hand in many different avenues such as sport, current affairs, politics and many more, I have decided that I want to be a journalist that focuses on all things film, TV and music.

​

Was this a surprise to me? No. I spend a lot of time going to the cinema either with friends or mostly on my own and spend half my time relaying facts about films which no one cares about.

​

More often than not, I will have an AirPods in listening to music at any chance I get. And who don't love a bit of a binge of a TV show?

​

Now, let's get this some opinions out of the way so it doesn't come up later down the line. No, I don't particularly like the Dune films. I still haven't watched Breaking Bad (This is poor from me, admittedly) and every artist I end up liking annoyingly ends up being massively controversial. 

​

This blog will mainly be a showcase of my writing ability for potential employers, if your are one, hi, nice to meet you, but also a way for me to share my opinion on things.
